arrogance destroys Talent

One of the biggest recurring themes in success is losing it. One of the biggest recurring themes of becoming rich is going broke. One of the biggest recurring themes in reaching great heights is falling off. Why do people fall off? What's the process of losing success; so I can avoid it? Why would Gd give great blessings and then take them away?

What's the process of falling off?

the sages say the "generation of Noah" was given some of the greatest gifts/talents(from God)in human existence. At the same time the entire generation was destroyed by Gd through a great flood. Why did Gd give great blessings then bring destruction? Read below:

The Tosefta taught that the generation of the Flood acted arrogantly before God on account of the good that God lavished on them. So (in the words of Job 21:14–15) “they said to God: ‘Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of Your ways. What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit should we have, if we pray unto Him?’” They scoffed that they needed God for only a few drops of rain, and they deluded themselves that they had rivers and wells that were more than enough for them, and asGenesis 2:6 reports, “there rose up a mist from the earth.” God noted that they took excess pride based upon the goodness that God lavished on them, so God replied that with that same goodness God would punish them. And thus Genesis 6:17 reports, “And I, behold, I do bring the flood of waters upon the earth.”[77] Similarly, the Rabbis taught in aBaraita that the good that God lavished upon the generation of the Flood led them to become arrogant

"Appreciation is only way to defeat arrogance as you rise to the top. Everything comes from Gd; as soon as you forget prepare 4 massive destruction in life. The Torah is giving us a blueprint of how not to fall off."

(may we all continue to rise)
